NexStar 114 GT Pictures

Here are some photos I've taken with my NexStar 114GT. I don't expect to be adding any more images to this list, since I now have a Meade LX90. Here are two I liked a lot:

Solar eclipse (partial), June 10, 2002. Note the sunspot at left-center. The focus isn't quite perfect. Nikon Coolpix 990 afocal, Celestron NexStar 114GT on an equatorial mount.

The moon, June 16, 2002. Mare Serenitatis is at middle top right of the terminator; Mare Tranquilitatis is below it and to the right. The isolated lunar sea is Mare Crisium. Note the central peak in the crater about a quarter of the way from the bottom near the terminator. Wish I could've gotten a better focus, but the upper atmosphere was a bit bumpy. I am pretty sure the blurriness at top and bottom is a result of the optics in this less-than-spectacular camera, though. Nikon Coolpix 990 afocal, Celestron NexStar 114GT on an equatorial mount.
